Fast, easy, and shiny! No other technique can compare. Use with Sticky Powder, glue pen, double stick tape, Stamp and Stick glue pad, or any dry adhesive. Rub on foils give a bright, shiny, metallic finish to your project.

Basic Instructions using a Glue Pen:

gold leaf, rub on foil, rubberstamp, glue pen, scrapbook, christmas, holly

I found this wonderful 12" x 12" paper at our local scrapbook store. I fell in love with the holiday theme, but thought overall it lacked pizzaz. I decided to add some silver highlights.

The BEST pen to work with is the Quickie Glue Pen. You can add a fine line of glue with the writing ease of a ballpoint pen. Apply the glue where you want to add some highlights. The glue will go on blue and will dry clear. Wait until the glue is completely dry before applying the foil or it may smear. When dry, the glue will remain tacky.

Once dry (it turns from blue to clear), lay the foil over the glue. Rub with your fingers so the foil comes in contact with the glue. Start with one corner and peel off the foil. If you missed a spot, lay the foil over the sticky spot, press with your fingertip, and remove. It took me about 15 minutes start to finish to add silver highlights to the entire page. Waiting for the glue to dry is the hardest part!

For this sample, we used a 1" snowflake punch. Punch design from cardstock. Place a piece of packing tape on the back side of the cardstock. On the top side, place a piece of rub on foil and rub with your finger. Peel off foil. A small line of tape around the outer edge of the design will remain. Sprinkle on glass beads. Gently shake off excess beads.
